Used Aston Martin DBS For Sale

The DBS was originally available between 1967–1972. It was offered with two engine options: the regular six-cylinder DBS and the DBS V8. The new car was released in 2007. The current DBS is also sometimes referred to as the DBS V12.

The original Aston Martin DBS for sale is best known for its starring role in the James Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. It was a successor to the DB6, although both were produced simultaneously for three years. The DBS was bigger and thus heavier than the DB6 yet, in the beginning, both shared the same 4.0-liter inline-six engine. The engine was good enough for 282 hp, although a no-cost option called the Vantage produced 325 hp. You can spot the DBS with the six-cylinder engine by its wire wheels.

In 1969, Aston Martin shoved a V-8 under the hood and called the car the DBS V8. Where it took the six-cylinder auto seven seconds to get up to sixty 60 mph from a standstill, the V-8 car only required a little bit less than six seconds. The top speed of the six-cylinder car was 141 mph compared to the 160 mph for the V-8 car. When production of the six-cylinder car ended in 1973, the DBS V8 became known as simply the V8. It is calculated that the DBS cars produced from 1967 to 1972 a total of 787 units.

Today, the DBS is the unofficial replacement to the Vanquish. The modern DBS was presented to the public in the James Bond movie Casino Royale. The chassis of the new car is comprised of bonded aluminum. The body of the auto is composed mostly of carbon fiber; a first for the UK company. It is equipped with a 6.0-liter V-12 producing 510 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. That much power coupled to a six-speed manual but weighed down by a curb weight of 3,828 pounds equals a zero-to-60 time of 4.0 seconds and on to a top speed of around 200 mph. To slow all that speed to a halt, the car uses huge 15.7 ceramic brakes upfront and big 14.2 in the rear.
